Rudy Hanson was the proprietor of the gas station on the corner of Findlay and Rainer that Big Chickie now calls home. Rudy purchased the gas station in 1966. For the many people who still remember him, Rudy was an active and caring community member.
After Rudy passed away, his family decided that they wanted to do something with the property that honored Rudy’s legacy of service to Hillman City. In consultation with their close family friend and realtor Darla Morton, they decided to remodel the building and give the property a new life in service to Hillman City, this time as a restaurant.
Today, when you enter Big Chickie, you walk into what was once Rudy’s Office. There, you’ll see his jacket and proprietor sign hung proudly in memory of all the great service Rudy provided to Hillman City.
